Dolly Parton's Imagination Library in WV 2023

Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library is a book gifting program that mails free, high-quality books to children from birth until age five, no matter their family’s income. The West Virginia Department of Education and Marshall University’s June Harless Center, in partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, are fostering a love of books among West Virginia’s children. Books are delivered to the home monthly at no cost to families.

As of July 2023, 54% of eligible children are enrolled in the program.
There are approximately 93,475 eligible children in the state.
It costs approximately $2.20 per child per month to purchase and distribute books.
Over 3 million books have been mailed to West Virginia children to date.
